The delicious and powerful root of Little John Root is used to make the voice heard, speech eloquent, and masterfully orate in a room. Also known as Court Case Root, Low John, Chewing John, or Little John To Chew, the roots taste and smell like a cross between angelica and sweet oranges. It is used primarily in court case work, as it gives strength to the defendant to overcome the situation, and lends his or her voice to be heard. Allegedly, one would chew a piece of the root, and when in the courtroom, spit the saliva onto the floor, where the judge would walk, dominating the judge to be in favor of themselves. In situations where you aren't able to spit onto the floor, it is said spitting into the hands and touching the courtroom furniture is acceptable. Carrying the root itself is said to aid in the work, but is less effective. 
It is recommended that the roots be steeped in sugar water the night before to soften the rootstock. 
The roots can be powdered and sprinkled on brown Spell Candles dressed in Just Judge Oil for swaying a courtroom.
