Abrus Seeds
Abrus Seeds — also known as rosary peas, jequerity beans, John Crow Seeds, or Jumbie Seeds — are small, striking red-and-black seeds with a long magical and cultural history. Native to South Asia and Australia but found across tropical regions, they’re also common in South Florida, where they grow wild.
These toxic seeds have traditionally been used as beads in amulet-making, jewelry, and charms for protection, power, and luck. In Hindu traditions, they're sometimes sacred to Vishnu and Krishna. In Caribbean folklore — especially in Trinidad, Jamaica, and Tobago — they’re used to ward off jumbies (ghosts and witches) and are incorporated into folk magic and spiritual defense work.
Abrus Seeds may also be used in spells to sow confusion or disorder, depending on intent. Their beauty hides their danger — the seeds are extremely toxic if crushed or ingested. In some regions, they're called suicide seeds. These are for ritual and curio use only — not for internal use under any circumstance.
Each packet includes 12 Abrus Seeds. Handle with caution.
