The roots of Elecampane, also called Elfwort, Horseheal, or Elfdock, are a powerful botanical ally associated with beauty, love, and psychic visions. Its botanical species name,  helenium, is named after Helen of Troy, where her tears fell as she wept in regret for leaving Sparta. 
A beautifully fragrant root, resembling a softer blend of gum elemi and angelica, its use in magic is primarily for love spells and spells for beauty. Infusing the roots in water and washing one's face was said to make one beautiful.
