Peaceful Home workings are spells used to keep order, peace, and a sense of comfort in the home. It is similar to Southern True Love Spells (which are used to draw traditional love, aid in marriage, and fortify domestic relationships), Fiery Wall of Protection spells (which focus on protecting a person or place, such as the home), and Banishing spells (which seek to remove maleficia, people, or energies from a space). Peaceful Home spells are unique, however, in that they work directly with calming the home, allowing positivity to come forward. These spells aid in deterring hot tempers and even help soothe spiritual fluids that wander in the home that may be agitated.

Peaceful Home Room Spray is a room spray infused with the plants associated with bringing peace, including jasmine, lavender, and peace lily. It can be sprayed throughout the home to quell agitations and aid in bringing joy. It can also be spritzed onto linens for freshness.

Your home is your kingdom, and anything outside of that is someone else's. We are the rulers of our own home, and the spirits and people we invite in should be cognizant of this.

Peaceful Home Potpourri

If tempers are flared, or spiritual activity has been on the rise, make this potpourri to calm and cool tempers.

On a Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, offer the spirit of your home an offering of light-colored flowers: white and pink roses are lovely. Leave the flowers for three days, each day refreshing the water. After three days, remove the spent flowers, take the ones that are still vibrant, and hang them upside down to dry.

When they are prepared, place them in a potpourri dish or bowl in the communal areas of the home. Add to this two Magnolia Seed Pods, an Orris Root, and a Dixie John Root. Spray the dry plant material with Peaceful Home Room Spray or Florida Water. You can also sprinkle a few drops of Southern True Love Oil if tension has been caused between you and your live- in partner or spouse. Mix the potpourri mix, and pray over it Psalm 31:

31 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength. Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth. I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord. I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly. For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed. I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me. I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life. But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake. Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.

When the flowers are spent, remove the flowers and dispose of them, repeating the steps and refresh them.

Psalm 23 For a Peaceful Home and Fortifying the Spirit

Water For Capturing and Cooling The Tempers In The Home

If disturbances from spiritual fluids, or emotional disruption, are occurring in the home, set out one, three, four, or five glasses of water, depending on the severity of the situation. Into each, place a few sprays of Peaceful Home Room Spray. Alternatively, you can also use a few glugs of Florida Water. Allow these to sit out throughout the week, inconspicuously picking up the negative energies. Throw these glasses down the drain, with running water, or into the toilet and replace as necessary.

A Candle Working For Protection and Peace In The Home

For this working you will need the following:

Take four red or white 6” Spell Candles, and into them carve the word ‘protection’. Alternatively,

you could use a sigil that corresponds to your goal. Dress all four in Fiery Wall of Protection Oil.

Sprinkle one dirt from each corner onto the corresponding candle- so each one dirt goes onto one candle each. Set these up on your workspace in a square formation. In the center of the four candles, place a glass of water, that contains a few splashes of Peaceful Home Room Spray. Light the candles and allow them to burn. As they burn, pray Psalm 15 over the working:

15 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

When the working has burned out, take a few pieces of the candle wax from the working, and at each corner of the house, bury them. In the home, add the water from the working to a floor wash, or sprinkle in the four corners of the home with a sprig of rosemary.

The House Spirit

For the magical practitioner, the spirit of the home is an imperative ally to strengthen and work

with. Every home may have a spirit, but not every spirit's home is strong, or its inhabitants aware of it. The concept of the spirit house shows up in multiple cultures over centuries. It may be an elevated ancestor, such as accounts of skulls being plastered in the walls, or certain family members being buried under the floorboards. It can also be something non-human, like we see with concepts of brownies from the British Isles, or the Domovoy from the Slavic regions. It might be some enchanted being, an amalgam of both of these things.

In any case, the dead, the land, and the spirits that inhabit it are paramount to the concept of the spirit of the House.

The cornerstone of a building was the primary way stone buildings were created in many parts of

the world, beginning most likely in ancient Mesopotamia. The first stone that was laid would be the foundation for the entirety of the building and was the standard practice of building well into the 20th century. Cornerstones are now, however, largely ceremonial. The ritualization of cornerstones is as old as the use of them- in which offerings may be poured over the stone. Dedicated to ancestors, gods, or, as we see in British blessings, saints.

Seeing as how most homes are not built on top of an actual cornerstone, the ritual below details creating a ritualistic cornerstone to serve the spirit of the home.

Ritualizing The Cornerstone and Building A Shrine To The Spirit of The Home

This shrine should be small and simple. It can be close to the main ancestral shrine, but it should be separate. The ideal place is in the kitchen, close to the oven, but any communal space is appropriate.

On a day when you can give appropriate time to this ritual, you should ask the spirit of the land to give you a stone that will serve as the cornerstone for the home. Make an appropriate offering of cooked porridge, and a libation of red wine. You should be clean and perfumed, and do this ritual in quiet contemplation once the prayers have been said. Take with you a coin, and go seek out the stone once the offerings have been made. Allow your intuition to guide you, and find the stone. Take the stone and carry it home with you, trading it with the coin.

Offer the stone a white candle, and pour over it an offering of milk, honey, red wine, and finally water. Allow the rock to sit atop the shrine, now standing in as the cornerstone.
